Do you think advancing in science is more important the bothering with religion?

I personally think so, I haven't seen religion do anything ''miraculous'' as science has. Religion to me sort of makes me want less freedom of speech in order to subdue chaos in an area since many other religions exist and branches of that religion, and yet there is only one ''form'' of science...huh...what do you think?
